Wenton Charles “Chuck” Rowland, age 96, of Middletown, OH passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2019, in OH.-He was born April 28, 1923, at Lerose, KY on Amburgy Fork (Owsley County). His relatives were: Mother: Fannie Mae Seals.-His father: Wenton C. Rowland Rhodes.-Stepfather: Walter Napier: Grandmother: Deborah Moore.- In 1942 Chuck went into the Navy and served on the mini destroyer “Escort D533”.-He stayed on the ship 27 months as a yeoman.-He went to Japan, China Sea and all over the South Pacific delivering supplies.-He left the Navy in May 1946.  He met Georgia Thompson, a local girl from Jackson, 3 months later, and they married on September 10, 1946.  They left Kentucky and moved to Ohio to find work.-Chuck retired from General Motors and he and Georgia traveled some and enjoyed their years together.-Georgia passed away on April 26, 2009.  Chuck was laid to rest beside her on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Haddix Cemetery, INC. Haddix, KY with graveside services.-Chuck was such a good man and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements
