Vance Ray Perkins, age 65, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Jackson, KY .-He was born on November 11, 1953 in Gary, IN to  Elzie and Alleen (Thompson) Perkins.- He was a 1972 graduate of Breathitt High School. -Following graduation, Vance joined and served in the armed services (Army) from which he was honorably discharged. – He worked for and later retired from Forrester Joseph Trucking.  -Vance was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed nothing more than fishing and hunting in the mountains of Eastern Kenucky that he called home for most of his life.–He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Case of Cramerton, NC.-His sister: Brenda (Ira) Gibson of Jackson, KY-His brother- Elzie (Sonya) Perkins of Jackson, KY-He is also survived by his grandson, Dalton Thomas, and his nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.  -He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved, Sue Southwood.-A memorial service and CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.at Deaton Funeral Home  with David Haddix officiating.-Visitation will begin an Noon on Saturday.-Burial will follow int he family plot at the Lick Branch Cemetery, Jackson, KY-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
