Sherman Johnson, age 77, of Belcher Fork Road, Jackson, KY passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY.– He was born September 7, 1939 at Elkatawa, KY and was the son of the late Sam and Mary Alice (Watkins) Johnson.–He was preceded in death by one daughter: Betty Lorene Johnson Irving.–Five sisters: Eunice Montgomery, Coy Banks, Gladys Roberts, Naomi Little and Katherine South.–Two brothers: Carl Johnson and Austin Johnson.–He is survived by his wife: Irene (Banks) Johnson of Jackson, KY.–Two daughters: Alisa Coyle of Jackson, KY.–Brenda Troxell of Jackson, KY.–Son-in-laws: Charles Irving, Jr.–Wilson Coyle, –Charles Troxell.–Two sisters: Betty Robinson of Garrett, IN.–Etta McCormick of Crossville, TN. –One brother: Homer (Georgia) Johnson of Jackson, KY.–Four grandchildren: Dustin (Kayla) Irving,- Trey (Christina) Coyle,- Emily (Dylan) Carico, -Addison Troxell.–Two great granddaughters: Arya Madison Coyle, -Scarlett Dobson Irving.–He is also survived by a host of friends, relatives and honorary grandchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Lansaw and James Southwood officiating.–Burial in the Johnson Cemetery, Belcher Fork Road, Jackson, KY.–Visitation will begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–Pallbearers: Dustin Irving, Trey Coyle, Addison Troxell, Dylan Carico, Nathan Coyle, Jason Allen.
