Leon Allen of Jackson, KY went home to be with the Lord at the age of 90.  Leon loved history, Ford trucks, people–especially kids, God, Country, and Family.  He was a retired welder and served in the United States Army.  Leon faithfully attended and worked for the Temple of Love Pentecostal Church at Noctor, KY.   Leon was born August 10, 1933 at Rowdy, KY and was the son of the late Gordon and Maude Harvey Allen.   Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers:  Corbit Allen, Dennis Allen, Charles Allen, Alvin Allen.  His sisters:  Martha Allen, Wavealean Allen and Juanita Zicarelli.  His grandson:  Brentley Ryan Overman.  His son in law: Chester Bert.  He is survived by his wife: Diana Jo Allen of Jackson, KY.  Sons: Dan Allen (Erin) of Roseville, CA and Derwin Allen (Cristy) of El Paso, TX.  Daughters:  Danette Bert (Jim) of New York.  Clarice Schillinger of Philadelphia, PA.  Wendi Overman (Daniel) of Jackson, KY.  Rebecca Thorpe (Erik) of Jackson, KY.  Grandchildren;  Cody Burkett (Stacy), Coleton Allen (Amanda), Yashar Keyvan, Lily Jolyssa Overman, Amber Danielle Overman.  Great Granddaughter: Alexis Yaukey,  Brother:  Leonard Allen (Martha) of Chicago, IL.  Sisters:  Christine Hudson (Raymond) and Janet Miller (Willie Roy) of Jackson, KY.  Special granddaughters:  Megan Thompson and Kirsten Inscore (Markus).  Special Great grandson: Asher Alexander Inscore;  Special Fur Babies-Rose & Rebel.  Six nieces, eight nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Roland Stidham officiating.  Military Rites to be observed.  Burial in the Turner Cemetery, Highway 15 South, Jackson, KY.  Visitation will be Friday , October 6 from 5:00-9:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.    Pallbearers:  Derwin Allen, Cody Burkett, Erik Thompson, Daniel Overman, Jimmy Ashley, Herman Hughes, Charlie Stidham, Roland Stidham, Adam Baker.
