Mr. Niece was an extremely nice person. I remember him well. He always wore a smile. I met him when I was in grade school, at LBJ, where I was introduced to 4-H. Although I lived out of town, had a mother that didn’t drive, and a father who worked M-F until dusk, I was still able to enjoy 4-H activities due to this caring man. Thank you, Mr. Niece, for playing such a big part in Breathitt County.

Jack was a good man who worked hard to improve Breathitt County. He served as a sports writer, administrator, religious leader and community activist. He will be missed by many and his leadership will be difficult to emulate.

Jack was a wonderful, giving person. He loved God and brought us wonderful biblical messages when he was pastor as Bach Memorial Church. We loved his sermons. Jack will always be remembered for his love of the Breathitt County children through the Breathitt County Extension Service and 4 H. My son who is 37 now really enjoyed all his 4H activities. What a wonderful leader Jack was! He worked hard at the Senior Citizens of Breathitt County and planned many social activities and trips for the seniors that loved going there. He had a love and zest for life. I remember going to folk dances as a young girl and he and his beautiful wife Vivian were there, loving to dance and being with friends. Jack was loved by so many and will be missed but Heaven has received another beautiful angel. We pray for comfort and peace for Vivian, Becky, David, other family members and friends of the family. May Jack rest in peace until we join him one day.
