Edgar Sandlin, age 79, of Buckhorn, KY passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2016 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was born Aug. 6, 1936 in Perry County, KY and was the son of the late James C. and Etta Ingram Sandlin. He was a retired coal miner and a member of Krypton Mason Lodge 905. He was preceded also in death by two sisters: Alpha Sandlin Combs and Cora Sandlin Begley. Two brothers: David Sandlin and Donnie Sandlin. Two infant brothers: J.D. Sandlin and Floyd Sandlin. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Davidson Sandlin of Buckhorn, KY. One daughter: Charolette Sandlin of Buckhorn, KY. Two sons: Edgar Jr. (Colleen) Sandlin and James Farmer (Beverly) Sandlin of Buckhorn, KY. One sister: Leola Sandlin Bowling of Somerset, KY. Two brothers: Eugene Sandlin of Buckhorn, KY; Charles E. (Alma) Sandlin of Hazard, KY. One aunt: Polly Ingram Riley of Buckhorn, KY. Two granddaughters: Lula Marie and Madison Paige: Four grandsons: Edgar J. Garrett Lee; Eric Farmer, Morgan James and Howie. A host of nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral at Buckhorn, KY with Tom and Gayle Burns and Simmie Ray Bowling officiating. Burial in the Government Cemetery at Buckhorn, KY. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
