Chester Whitely, age 81, of Coomer Fork Road, Jackson, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.  He was born March 4, 1943 at Highland, KY and was the son of the late Jim and Ellie Turner Whitely.  He was preceded also in death by his wife: Etta Bell Whitely.  One brother: James Whitely.  Four sisters:  Helen Davis, Betty Seals, Christine Whitely and Loulie Mayes.  One granddaughter:  Amanda Whitely.   Chester was a member of the Word of Life Christian Center.  He is survived by two sons:  Chester Lee (Carol) Whitely and Donnie Darrell (Regina) Whitely of Jackson, KY.  Two daughters:  Mary Lou (Ed) Thorpe of Jackson, KY and Connie Lynn (Jason) Johnson of West Liberty, KY.  One brother: Homer (Hala) Whitely of Jackson, KY.  Six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Turner and George Spicer officiating.  Burial in the CW Cemetery, Coomer Fork Road, Jackson, KY.  Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-9:00 pm with additional services beginning at 6:30 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
