James Roy Luther Gabbard, age 48, of Hazel Green, KY passed away on Saturday September 13, 2025, in Powell County due to an automobile accident.  He was born August 8, 1977, in Lexington, KY and was preceded in death by his mother:  Alice Landrum Gabbard.  His paternal grandparents:  Roy and Gretchen Gabbard.  His maternal grandparents:  Luther and Ogie Landrum.  Uncles: Andy Gabbard and R.D. Gabbard.  Aunt:  Anne Gabbard.  He is survived by his wife: Laura Pelfrey Gabbard of Jackson, KY.  His father and stepmother: Harvey Gabbard and Sharon Little of Hazel Green, KY.  His sister: Tammy Gabbard of Cincinnati, OH.  Stepsisters: Shelley Spencer and Sara Jones.  Stepbrother: David Little.  Niece:  Katie Quillen and Emilee Jones.  Nephew: Victor Jones III. Cousins:  Jamie and Jill Moore, Gary Gabbard, Heather Grizaffe, Robbie Moore and Spencer Moore Back.  His good neighbors:  Yondell Phipps and family.  He is also survived by a host of other family members and many other friends.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Spicer officiating.  Burial in Gabbard Flat Cemetery Jackson, KY.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 16 from 5:00-9:00 pm.   Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
