Homer Bowling, age 71, of Jackson, KY passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY. He was born July 26, 1954 at Saldee, KY and was the son of the late Roy and Cleda Mae Bowling.  Homer was a minister and member of the Old Regular Baptist Church of Saldee until its closing.  He then was a faithful member and assistant pastor of the Open Bible Church of Whick since 1990.  He also was a volunteer firefighter of the Wolfcoal and Watts-Caney Fire Departments.

Homer was preceded in death by brothers: Jesse Bowling and Walter McIntosh.  Sisters:  Carmie Stewart, Pearl Curtis, Wilma Hensley, Shirley Noble, Hazel Arrowood.  He is survived by his wife: Vonda Gail Bowling of Jackson, KY.  His son: Jesse James Bowling of Jackson, KY.  One sister:  Cora (Johnny) Griffith of Jackson, KY.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Swartzentruber and Randy Kloth officiating.  Burial in the Bud Bowling Cemetery, Stamper Fork, Canoe, KY.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-9:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
