Floyd Russell, age 93, of Jackson, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his residence.   He was born January 8, 1933, in Breathitt County, KY and was the son of the late John C. and Vicie Clemons Russell.  He was preceded also in death by brothers:  Gobel Russell, Claude Russell, Noah Russell and Cecil Russell.  His sisters:  Lizzie Martin, Geneva Miller, Bessie Hurt and Rose Russell.

He is survived by his wife:  Barbara Collins Russell of Jackson, KY.   His sons:  Rickford (Sherri) Johnson of TN; and Floyd Russell, Jr of Richmond, KY.  His daughters:  Barbie (Thomas) Walker of Vanceburg, KY and Shellie (Shawn) Cleary of FL.   Two sisters:  Luna Sexton and Irene McDonough, both of OH. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Collins officiating.  Burial in the Lovely Cemetery, Hwy 30 East, Jackson, KY.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Friday until time of service.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
