John Stanley Nickell, age 55, of Winchester, KY and formerly of Jackson, KY passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, in Winchester, KY.-He was born February 1, 1964, in Hazard, KY.-He was a retired electrician.-He is survived by his wife: Ellen (Shackelford) Nickell of Winchester, KY.-His parents: John and Nancy (Russell) Nickell of Jackson, KY.-Two step-sons: Tyler Swetnam and Tanner Swetnam of Winchester, KY.-One brother: Charles Scott (Stacey) Nickell of Somerset, KY.- Five nieces: Danielle Nickell, Emily Nickell, Brooklynn Wooten, Kaitlin Scroggins, Brittany Whalen.-One great-niece: Layla Scroggins, One great-nephew: Bryson Scott Scroggins.-His beloved dog: Maxx.-Memorial services and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with David Neace officiating.-Visitation will begin on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  In honor of John,  the family requests that all wear blue jeans to the visitation and service.
