James Monroe (Roe) Coomer, age 76, of Jackson, KY passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at his residence. in Jackson, KY.–He was born August 9, 1941, in Lee County, KY and was the son of the late Albert and Malvery (Turner) Coomer.–He was preceded in death by three sisters: Gladys Deaton, Dorothy Deaton and Geneva Fox.–Three brothers: Paul Coomer, Billy Ray Coomer and Kenneth Coomer.–He is survived by his wife: Iona Fay (Jenkins) Coomer of Jackson, KY–Three daughters: Lola Napier and Etta Godsey of Jackson, KY–Judy Ann (Lewis) Hensley of Campton, KY–Two sons: Gary Godsey and James Coomer of Jackson, KY.–Three sisters: Beatrice Powell of Florida, Judy (Johnny) Shelton and Virginia Mae Coomer of Lebanon, OH.–Twelve grandchildren-ten grandchildren and a host of great -great grandchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jackson Church of God on Quicksand Road with Harry Kemper and Robert Cundiff officiating.–Burial in the Coomer Cemetery at Primrose, KY–Visitation will begin on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–Pallbearers: James Trent, T.J. Chambers, Gary Scott Spencer, Lewis Hensley, Craig Noble, Samuel Trent, J.R. Holder. |
