John Francis Perkins, age 85, of Frozen Creek, Vancleve, KY passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at his residence. –He was born March 24, 1932 at Frozen Creek, KY and was the son of the late John and Cora (Roberts) Perkins.–He was preceded in death also by seven sisters: Rena Smith, Louise King, Lillie Robertson, Wanda Haney, Carlene Nickell, Arnetta Bragg, Lizzie Haddix.–Three brothers: Theo Perkins, Mart Perkins and Seldon Perkins.–John was retired from General Motors Corporation.–A Corporal of the United States Army Korean War Veteran.–He had volunteered twenty years for the Vancleve Fire Department.–He attended the House of Prayer Church in Campton, KY–He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Edith (Banks) Perkins of Vancleve, KY–One daughter: Penny Herald of Vancleve, KY.–Four sons: Randy (Kathy) Perkins of Columbus, MI.-Ron (Kathy) Perkins of Owosso, MI.–John (Phyllis) Perkins of Noctor, KY.–Chris (Tammy) Perkins of Somerset, KY.–Three sisters: Gladys Ernst of Millington, MI.–Pearlie Conley of Stacy Fork, KY–Darlene Nickell of Cannel City, KY–Two brothers: Junior Haney and Ralph Haney of Cannel City, KY.–Ten grandchildren and eight great granchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Conner and Kenneth Burnett officiating.–Burial in the Tyra Cemetery, Frozen Creek, Vancleve, KY–Visitation will begin on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–Military Rites to be observed at funeral service. |
