Loreane Asher

Loreane Combs Asher, age 82, of Manchester, KY and formerly of Breathitt County passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY.  She was born August 7, 1943 in Letcher County, KY and was the daughter of the late Granville and Nora Watkins Combs.  She was also preceded in death by her husband: Larry Asher.  Her daughter:  Norma Kay Chaney, Her brothers:  Billy Combs. JL Combs, Thomas Lee Combs, Finley Ray Combs, Lloyd Combs and Charles Combs.  Her sisters: Margaret Johnson and Gladys Combs. Loreane was a retired employee of the Department of Highways in Jackson, KY.

She is survived by sons:  Thomas (Tracy) Chaney of Booneville, KY.  Rodney Chaney, Stephen Asher, Daniel Asher, Richard Asher, Jason Asher.  Daughter:  Phyllis Chaney of Manchester, KY. Grandchildren:  Betty (Curtis) Hardin, Amber (Jared Napier) Chaney, Thomas W. (Kaitlin) Chaney, Abigail (Jacob McIntosh) Chaney, Nathan Chaney, Ashley Bryant, Vontella Hensley, Lucas (Katie) Asher.  Great grandchildren:  Mason Asher, Liam and Logan Hardin, Payton Hensley.  She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Bess Gross and Carl McIntosh officiating.  Burial in the Watkins and Combs Cemetery at Noctor, KY.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-9:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
