Georgia Oaks Jett

Georgia Oaks Jett, age 91, of Jackson, KY passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Breathitt Health and Rehab Nursing Facility in Jackson, KY of an extended illness.  She was born February 26, 1935, at War Creek, KY and was the daughter of the late Marion and Nell Overbee Oaks.   She was preceded in death by her husband: James Jett.  Her grandson:  Jason Lawson.  Her brothers:  Jim Oaks and John Oaks.

Georgia and her husband James owned and operated Jetts Home Furnishings for many years.  She was a faithful member of the First Church of God and attended regularly until she was physically unable to attend.  Georgia was a faithful servant of the Lord and encouraged everyone she met to accept Jesus as their Savior and be saved. She was a faithful witness at the nursing home.  She was an encourager to everyone she met and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by two daughters:  Nelda (John Jr.) Marshall of Jackson, KY and Mary (Archie) Bowling of Jackson, KY.   One brother: Richard (Vickie) Oaks of Jackson, KY.  Three grandchildren:  Zack (Megan) Miller, Travis (Cora) Bowling and Brandon (Stephanie) Bowling.  Great grandchildren:  Eli Miller, Isaiah Miller, Gideon Bowling, Adlyn Bowling, Harrison Bowling, Owen Bowling, and Emma Bowling.   She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Noon at the First Church of God, 1772 Highway 30 West, Jackson, KY. Bobby Hollon and John Bunn officiating. Burial in the Jackson Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday evening from 5:00-9:00 pm at the First Church of God.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers: Friends and Family.
