Georgia Marie Chapman Combs

Georgia Marie Chapman Combs, age 77, of Jackson, KY departed this earthly life peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Landmark Rehab and Nursing Facility due to a long illness.  Georgia was surrounded by family members at the time of her passing.   Georgia was born November 27, 1947, in Breathitt County, KY to the late George Edward and Agnes Deaton Chapman.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband: Joe Combs.  Her brother: Gary Chapman.

Georgia was a retired Home Health Aide that dedicated her life to her family and caring for others.

She will be lovingly remembered by survivors; her son, Roy (Banger) Howard III; her grandson: William Tayton Smith; her sister: Elizabeth (Greg) Chapman of Morrow, OH.  Five brothers:  Wick (Sue) Chapman; George (Grace) Chapman, Greg (Susie) Chapman, John Paul (Ann) Chapman and Steven Chapman, all of Jackson, KY.   She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will mourn her passing.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Grace Chapman and the staff of the Landmark Rehab and Nursing Facility for their kindness and caring attention given to Georgia during her illness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Archie Combs officiating.  Burial in the Chapman Family Cemetery, Carpenter Branch, Noctor, KY.  Visitation will be Friday, January 3, from 5:00-9:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers: Family and friends.
