Wilma Jean Thorpe

Wilma Jean Gabbard Thorpe, age 85, of Hwy 708 North, Beattyville, KY passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Hazard ARH.  She was born November 28, 1938, in Breathitt County and was the daughter of the late Chester Gabbard and Ida Mae Little Voiles.  She was also preceded in death by her husband:  Virgil Thorpe.  Her brother: Mitchell Gabbard.  She is survived by son: Michael (Tammy) Thorpe of Beattyville, KY.  Two sisters:  Mary Ann (Jimmy) Coomer of Walled Lake, MI and Ada (Butch) Knox of IN.  One grandson:  Michael Thorpe II.   She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Spencer officiating.  Burial in the Thorpe Family Cemetery at Canyon Falls, KY.  Visitation will begin on Thursday at 11:00 am until time of service.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
