Richard Anthony Terry, age 52, of Whick, KY departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 20, 2024 in Beattyville, KY due to an auto accident. He was born November 6, 1971 in Hazard, KY. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Brack and Catherine Terry and his maternal grandparents: Elmer and Sarah Strong. His uncle: Roscoe Terry. He is survived by his parents: Richard and Norma Strong Terry of Whick, KY. His sister: Sara Katherine Terry (Claude) Martin of Jeffersonville, KY. His uncle: Brack (Lori) Fugate. His aunts: Judy Terry, Ena Faye (Don) Maddox, Mamie Marie Kilgore and Angela Deaton. He is is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Anthony was very special to his mother, father & his sister. He was also special to his grandparents, Elmer & Sarah Strong (deceased). They were like a second father and mother to him. They all loved him unconditionally. Anthony enjoyed cars, racing & talking to his friends. On the day he was tragically taken from us, he was driving his car and enjoying the beautiful day, something he really loved doing. Although we grieve his loss, it gives us great comfort to know that other people also have wonderful memories & nice things to say about him. We are thankful for anyone who had a positive impact on his life, no matter how small the gesture. Whether it was a kind hello, a converstaion or something to brighten his day. These things didn’t go unnoticed or unmentioned by him. As a child to a young adult, he attended Turner’s Creek Mennonite Church regularly with his family. There he received many lessons about God and his love. Many members of that congregation made great effort to welcome him, talk to him & pray for him, as did many other treasured friends. He was a gift to our family and knew he was loved deeply by us. We will miss him forever & he will always be in our hearts & minds. There are many other positive things that we could say about him. As his family, we are certain that he knew our love for him. We have hope of seeing him in Heaven one day. A special thanks to Shade Deaton, a long time friend and his family, David Combs, a neighbor and friend and Greg Terry, a special cousin, along with other friends & family members that have personally connected with Anthony. Anthony will forever be special to us and he greatly appreciated the love shown to him by the people in his life.
