William Jerry McIntosh, age 87, of Buckhorn, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, KY.–He was born May 1, 1929 at Buckhorn, KY and was the son of the late Millard Filmore and Dora (Gross) McIntosh. –He was a retired employee of US Army Corp of Engineers at Buckhorn Dam. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War Era — William was an accomplished musician who taught himself to play various instruments (Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Dobro and Fiddle). – He loved bluegrass music and his favorite artists were Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, Merle Travis and Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin and Mac Wiseman.—- He was preceded in death by two sons: Jerry Gwyn McIntosh and infant son: Loren McIntosh. –Three sisters: Malvery Blevins, Bessie Burns and Florence Sandlin. –Four brothers: Filmore McIntosh, Albert Ross McIntosh, Squire B. “Joe” McIntosh, Sam McIntosh.–Three half sisters: Elva Hacker, Edith McIntosh, Mary McIntosh.–Three half brothers: Woodrow Johnson, Jeff McIntosh, and Mose McIntosh.–He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Spurlock) McIntosh, a resident of Booneville Nursing Home.–Two daughters: Venita Lynn (Domingo) Laracuente of Clarkson, KY.–Darlene Marie Phillips of Austell, GA.–One son: Larry (Shirley) McIntosh of Buckhorn, KY.–One granddaughter: Emma (Dustin) Neace of Gays Creek, KY.– Three grandsons: Nick (Tiffany) Laracuente of Frankfort, KY. -Brandon (Jennifer) Laracuente of Frankfort, KY.-Larry Travis McIntosh of Buckhorn, KY.– Three great granddaughters: Liberty McIntosh, Rosemary Laracuente, Sage Laracuente, Zoey Laracuente.–One great grandson: Hayden Dustin William Neace.–One half sister: Pauline McIntosh.–Two half brother: Keenas McIntosh and Ben McIntosh. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral Community Building, Buckhorn, KY with Tom Burns officiating.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
