Verda Rose Boggs, age 78 passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Erlanger, KY. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Chirst in Newport, KY. She was the daugther of the late Kelly and Angeline Spicer. She was born December 3, 1944, in Canoe, KY. She met and married her husband McKinley Boggs of Harrison, Ohio, July 6, 1964. A loving marriage that spanned 57 years. She is survived by her two loving sons, the eldest, William McKinley Boggs, married to Debbie. The youngest son, Samuel James Boggs, married to Kathy. Seven Sisters: Coreena Bowling, Haney Stamper, Helen Morgan, Verneda Turner, Theadus Arrowood (Andy), Sarah Faye Edison, Angeline Turner (Donnie) and one brother, Samuel Burlon Spicer. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Debbie, Robert, Jacob, Tina, Miranda, Noah, Melanie, David, William and Emily Rose. She also had 9 great grandchildren: Desirae, Phoenix, Kaenan, Kaylie, Raelynn, Alexander, Layla, Cayden, Devin McKinley. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Verda Rose was preceded in death by her husband: McKinley Boggs, her parents: Kelly and Angeline Spicer and one brother: Kelly Spicer, Jr. Verdie, as she was lovingly known to family, will be missed and we’ll carry her memory in our hearts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Noon at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Faye Edison officiating. Burial in the Stamper-Spicer-Turner Cemetery at Canoe, KY. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until time of service. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
