Sam Ritchie, SR, age 85, of Jackson, KY died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Wolfe County Nursing Home in Campton, KY.-He was born November 10, 1933 in Breathitt County, KY and was the son of the late Lewis and Eva (Hale) Ritchie.- He was a coal miner and heavy equipment operator.-He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years:  Matilda (Clemons) Ritchie.- Four children: Sam Ritchie, JR.-Jack Ritchie, Carol Ritchie and Eva Ritchie.-Two grandchildren: Joshua Thorpe and Ashley Ritchie-Two great grand children: Nicholas Walters and Katiebelle Wilson.-Six sisters: Grace Ritchie, Mary Jane Goff, Rita Martin, Florence Hollan, Lucinda Haddix and Bessie Corneil.-Four brothers: Forest Ritchie, Roy Ritchie, William Ritchie, Blaine Ritchie.-He is survived by three daughters; Judy (Richard) Knarr of London, KY-Peggy (Robert) Colley of Jeffersonville, KY-Crystal (Bobby) Smith of Jackson, KY-Three sons: Jimmie (Pat) Ritchie of Harlan, KY-Ricky Ritchie of Jacksonville, FL.-Noah Ritchie of Jackson, KY-One sister in law: Laura Bell Harmon.-12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.-Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with David Collins officiating.-Burial in the Clemons-Ritchie Cemetery, Wilstacy, KY- Visitation will begin on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. with additional singing at 7:00 p.m.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.-Pallbearers: Jimmy Ritchie, Ricky Ritchie, Noah Ritchie, Richard Knarr, Robert Colley, Bobby Smith, Jeremy S.
