Sallie Margaret Strong, age 89, of Sulpher Gap,  Saldee, KY departed from this life on Monday, May 1, 2023 after a brief stay at the Greg and Norren Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, KY.  Sallie was the daughter of the late Leonard and Bessie Gray Richardson of Haddix, KY.  She was also preceded in death by her son:  David W. Strong.  Brothers:  Ray Richardson, Roy Richardson and Bobby Ray Richardson;   Sisters: Cordelia Napier and Marie Craig.  She is survived by her husband:  Samuel Strong Jr of Saldee, KY.    Six children:  Darlene (Randall) Kloth of Whick, KY; Dianne (Jim) Bilski of Richmond, KY;   Mark (Joy) Strong ;   Jonathan (Joene) Strong;   Annabess (Darrell) King ;all of Sulpher Gap,  Saldee, KY;   Sammy (Angie) Strong of Jackson, KY.  Brother: Dan Richardson of Haddix, KY.    Sallie and Sam have 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a host of many other relatives and friends.  Sam and Sallie Strong founded and pioneered Open Bible Church, Whick, KY 60 years ago and dedicated their lives to Christian Ministry in the community.  They were also involved in ministry at the Old Regular Baptist Church of Sulpher Gap,  Saldee, KY.   Sallie lived a long and blessed life and went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Bellamy and Randy Kloth officiating.  Burial in the Haddix Cemetery INC at Haddix, KY.  Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-9:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
