Ruby Wright Brown Wolfgang, 80, of Jackson, KY went to heaven on December 26, 2023. She was born on February 10, 1943 in Cortland, IN to Kermit and Luetta Wright. She spent over 40 years serving God in the Kentucky mountains. She was a retired teacher and elementary principal.
These were a few of her favorite things: teaching children, cleaning (crazy I know) sewing, quilting, trying new recipes, shoes, tapioca pudding, Ale8, Kentucky basketball, her family, and did I mention quilting.
She is survived by her two daughters: Apryl (Roland) Fowler of Nicholasville, KY and Karan (Todd) Levering, of Cincinnati, OH; Grandchildren: Tiffany, Ryan, and Bryce Fowler, Geoff (Felicia) Levering, Morganne (Lecholas) Mitchell, Chandler (Sady) Levering: Great grandchildren: Felicity and Finley Hubbard, Aubrey Levering, Gryffin Levering: Sister: Shirley (Pete) Reed; Step children: Larry (Pam) Wolfgang, Cindy Wolfgang, Wanda (Phil) Speas, Joe Daniels, Debbie (Jeff) Tomilan, and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Kermit and Luetta Wright. Sister: Nellie Waggoner: Her husband of 33 years: Thomas William Brown; Her second husband: Leonard Wolfgang, and stepchildren: Randy Wolfgang and LaRae Daniels.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at Wolfe County Health Care center as well as the hospice workers at Bluegrass Care Navigators for providing exceptional care to Ruby.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at the Five Mile Community Church, 4766 KY-15 #707, Jackson, KY, with the celebration of life service immediately following at 11:00 am with Delmer Gross officiating. Interment will be in the Lawson Cemetery, Mount Carmel, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Carmel Elementary School, 75 Mill Creek Lawson Road, Jackson, KY 41339. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
