Monnie Rhea (McClees) Slone, 90, formerly of Jackson, KY died March 8, 2019, at her home in Lawrenceburg, KY, surrounded by her children. -She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, John Will Slone, who died just seven months, seven days before her.-Born November 18, 1928 in Jackson, Monnie was preceded also in death by her parents: Worth and Erin (Barnette) McClees; One sister: Mary Jo Chapman ; Three brothers: Ivan, Ishmael and Danny McClees.- Survived by brother Eddie McClees; Sister Juanita Mullins.-A fiercely dedicated mother, Monnie leaves behind her children: Linda (James) Haddix, and Cheri (Sam) Johnson, of Lawrenceburg, KY.- Mike (Bernice) Slone, of Georgetown, KY; and Donna Slone of Lexington, KY-Affectionately known as Memom and Meme, Monnie had 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 7 great -great grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews who adored her.- Services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Noon at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, KY.-Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Wednesday.- Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery.-In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bluegrass Hospice Care, who helped in the final days of both Monnie and John: www.bgcarenav.org
