Millard Douglas Johnson, age 81, of Quicksand Road, Jackson, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1934 in Breathitt County and was the son of the late Pierce Johnson. He was former US postal worker in Jackson and operated Johnson’s Mini Mart for several years on Quicksand Road. He was preceded in death by his son: Douglas Glenn Johnson and one brother: Hugh Johnson. He is survived by his wife: Mary Sue (Salyer) Johnson of Jackson, KY. His mother: Ann Johnson of Jackson, KY. Two special cousins: Grace (Sam) Herald of Jackson, KY. Jerry (Penny) Reynolds of Canoe, KY. A special sister in law: Joann Arnett of Salyersville, KY. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil McIntosh and Ervine Allen officiating. Burial in the Glenn P. Salyer Cemetery; 16140 South East Licking River Road, Salyersville, KY. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 5:00p.m. with Masonic Rites observed at 7:00 p.m. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Jerry Edward Reynolds, Flynn Arnett, John Wesley Turner, Bruce Herald, Jeff Clair, John Hollon. Honorary Pallbearers: Porter Henson, Jacob Henson, David Jones, Robert Reynolds, John Reynolds. In lieu of flowers: donations requested be made to the American Heart Association.
