Mattie Spencer Spicer, age 91, of Beattyville, KY and formerly of Jackson passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Lee County Nursing Home. She was born January 1, 1925 in Breathitt County, KY and was the daughter of the late Henry and Eliza (Reynolds) Spicer. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Spicer. One daughter: Shirley Jean Spicer. One son: Wayne Spicer. Two sisters: Ethel Spencer and Lula Stevens. Four brothers: Reed Spencer, William Spencer, Eugene Spencer and Sherman Watkins. She is survived by two daughters: Charlene Whitely of Jackson, KY. Bonnie Fugate of Jackson, KY. Five sons: Cecil (Mary Ann) Spicer of Jackson, KY; Glen Spicer of Jackson, KY. Lenville (Judy) Spicer of Lewiston, MI; George Dana (Laura) Spicer of Jackson, KY; Randy (Sheila) Spicer of Jackson, KY. One sister: Dorothy Eidenhower of OH. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with George Dana Spicer officiating. Burial in the Spicer-Turner Cemetery, Town Hill Road, Jackson, KY. Visitation will begin on Monday at 5:00 p.m. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
