Laura Mullins Sword Turner, age 80, of Scottsburg, IN and formerly of Gays Creek, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Scottsburg, IN. – She was born March 12, 1937 in Perry County, KY and was the daughter of the late Estill and Callie (Collins) Mullins. -She was preceded in death by one daughter: Margaret Ann Neace.- Two sons: Kenneth Sword and Arlie Sword.–Three grandchildren: Michael Trent, Kristy Sword and Kimberly Sword.–Three brothers: Clarence Mullins, Roscoe Mullins and Wiley Mullins.– She is survived by her husband: Luther Turner of Somerset, KY.–Five daughters: Brenda (Scott) Combs of Scottsburg, IN.-Linda Noble Southwood of Somerset, KY.–Elizabeth Sword, Victoria Sword and Mary Sword of Gays Creek, KY.–Four sons: Thomas Sword of Altro, KY.-Allen Wayne (Vina) Sword and Elliott Sword of Somerset, KY.-Charlie Sword of Gays Creek, KY.–One sister: Alta (Special brother-in-law–Bruce) Cox of Somerset, KY.–35 grandchildren-36 great grandchlldren-10 great great grandchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11.a.m. at the Altro Church of God, Altro, KY with Chris Turner officiating. -Burial in the Turner and Sword Cemetery at Gays Creek, KY.–Visitation will begin on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the church. –Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
