Juanita Litteral Bach, age 90, of Vancleve, KY departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY due to a brief illness.  She was born July 4, 1934, at Taulbee in Breathitt County and was the daughter of the late John “Hardy” and Bessie Carpenter Litteral.  She was also preceded in death by her son:  Thomas “Tucker” Bach, Jr.   Her daughter: Sharon Lynn Bach Miller.  Granddaughter: Brittany Bach.  Sister: Wanda Eversole.  Her nephew: Gregory Dean Eversole.  Her niece: Scarlet Litteral Thomas.

Juanita’s educational background began at Vancleve Elementary in Breathitt County.  She then graduated from Breathitt High School and finally was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.   Her career expanded many areas of her life.  She was co-owner of Bach Furniture in Jackson, KY and she was employed for over 30 years at the Kentucky Department of Economic Security and Family Support in which she helped many people in Breathitt County.

She loved nature and spent many hours caring for her yard and flowers, watching deer and turkey in the fields near her home. She often talked about how she enjoyed Pastor John Bunn visiting her at her home and in the hospital and enjoyed him playing his horn.  Juanita was deeply committed to her family.   For several years her whole life revolved around her beloved granddaughter: Brittany.   Brittany was a special needs child and Juanita helped by providing constant care and support for her.  Family gatherings at her parent’s home were always dear to her and she spent a lot of her time helping her parents in their older years.

Juanita was especially proud of her granddaughter, Tiffany and her educational accomplishments.  She also was very proud of her four great grandsons.  Juanita has been blessed with a long life on earth and now a longer one in heaven.  She will be dearly missed by her family.

Survivors include Granddaughter: Tiffany (Jordan) Drake of Campton, KY.   Her brother: Phillip Litteral of Vancleve, KY.  Four great grandsons:  Brentley, Paxton, Bryce and Briar.  Two nieces: Debra (Bruce) Napier, and Bridgette Coulter.  A very special friend: Olivia Noble.  She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with John Bunn and Leonard Carpenter officiating.  Burial in the Carpenter Cemetery, Taulbee, KY.  Visitation will begin on Thursday at 10:30 am until time of service.  Pallbearers:  Jordan Drake, Bruce Napier, Lewis Watkins, Randy Carpenter.  Honorary pallbearers:  Brentley Drake, Paxton Drake, Bryce Drake, Briar Drake, M.C. Brewer.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
