Joan Neace Southwood, age 64, of Ned, KY passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born Nov. 10, 1951 at Ned, KY and was the daughter of the late Burnet Neace. She also was preceded in death by two brothers: Herbert Neace and Michael Neace. One brother-in-law: Von Elkins. She was a retired aide at Marie Roberts Elementary. She is survived by her mother: Rosa Lee Neace of Ned, KY. Her husband: Donald Southwood of Ned, KY. Two daughters: Bernetta Southwood of Jackson, KY. Mia (Cecil) Combs of Leburn, KY. One granddaughter: Katie Melton. Four sisters: Treva Elkins of Richmond, KY; Almeda (Michael) Bowling of Vancleve, KY; Yvonne Neace of Ned, KY; Cricket (Steve) Brewer of Ned, KY. Five brothers: Frank (Linda) Neace of Ned, KY. Jakie (Connie) Neace of Ned, KY; Ralph Neace (Beverly) of Ned, KY; Timothy (Guanalupae) Neace of IL; and Terry (Lisa) Neace of IN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neace Memorial Church at Ned, KY with Bobby Collins officiating. Burial in the Neace Family Cemetery at Ned, KY. Visitation will begin on Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
