Joan Combs Pennington, age 84, of Jackson, KY passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY. She was born December 17, 1938 at Canoe, KY and was the daughter of the late Silas and Rose Caudill Combs. She was preceded also in death by her beloved husband: Elbert Pennington. Her sister: Pearlie Hall. Her granddaughter: Monica Little Johnson. Her sister in law: Stella Gross. She is survived by son: David (Tammy) Pennington of Jackson, KY. Three daughters: Deborah (Richard) Foutch and Orpha (Jason) Summers both of Freedom, IN. Marsha Pennington Allen of Jackson, KY. Her sister: Chestene Wells of Jackson, KY. Two sisters in law: Gladys Oaks and Opal Shouse. Nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with John Abner officiating. Burial in the Elbert Pennington Family Cemetery, Belcher Fork Road, Jackson, KY. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 11:00 am until time of service. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
