I first met Jim when I worked at Booneville Southern States farm store. He was already a very close friend to my daddy, Jesse Johnson. Instantly Jim became like family to me. He told me about daddy feeding his hogs for him, and different little stories that made me know that he and dad were very close. The last good conversation I had with him was on daddy's porch. He ask me to come eat breakfast with him, Ruth, Gina & Doug. Told me there would always be a place at his table for me. This was during Jimmy's illness. He would often stop by and visit daddy. We sure did love our friend and look forward to seeing him again. Condolences to all Jim's family.

James Deaton was my Uncle by marriage to Jack Gabbard. I always loved to go visit Uncle Jim and Aunt Ruth . They always made me feel welcome and one of the family. Loved his story telling and jokes he would tell. I will miss my Uncle Jim.
