Jack Dempsey Niece, age 95, of Jackson, KY passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at his residence.   He was born June 11. 1927 in Letcher County, KY and was the son of the late James and Malissa Sergent Niece.  He was aslo preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.   Jack was a former teacher, former 4 H director,  former director of Breathitt County Senior Citizens, former pastor of Bach Memorial Church at Rousseau, KY and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, KY.  He is survived by his wife: Vivian Fields Niece of Jackson, KY.  His son: David Niece of Jackson, KY.  His daughter: Becky Niece and husband Brett Wilson of Lexington, KY.  One grandson:  David Kyle Wagers.  He is also survived by a host of other relatives and many many friends.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Jonathan Clemens officiating.  Burial in the Jackson Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Friday at 11:00 am until time of service.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers: Nephews and Family.  In lieu of flowers, donations requested be made to Bluegrass Navigators Hospice Care or Breathitt County Senior Citizens.
