Irene Maggard Akemon, age 82 of Altro, KY passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Wells Hospice Care center in Hazard, KY. She was born July 14, 1933 in Leslie County and was preceded in death by her father: Oral Maggard and mother: Lucy Joseph. She aslo was preceded in death by her husband: Dorsie Jack Akemon. Three sons: Jackie Akemon, Ronnie Akemon and Jeff Akemon. Son-in-law: Ernie Wayne Clutter. She is survived by four daughters: Rosemary (Gardner) Turner of Talbert, KY. Carolyn Clutter of Altro, KY; Lucy Akemon (David Hall) of Canoe, KY; Bessie (Jerry) Campbell of Jackson, KY. One son: David Akemon (Patricia Combs) of Altro, KY. Daughter in law: Diana Akemon of Altro, KY. Fifteen grandchildren: Wayne and Jackie Clutter, Gardner Michael (Sherrie) Turner, Matthew Turner, Josh Combs, Dorsie Akemon, Justin Hall, Tyler Hall, Jacob Tyler Akemon, Sarah (Ben) Costello, Betty Irene Combs (Brian Adams); Jennifer Bouchard, Candice Irene Akemon, Cassie Rene Akemon, Kelsey Hall. Eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altro Church of God with Chris Turner officiating. Burial in the White Cemetery at Barwick, KY. Visitation will begin on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
