Ida Marie Fugate, age 59 of Mt. Sterling, KY and formerly of Breathitt County passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Clark Regional Hospital in Winchester, KY.  She was born June 2, 1964 in Hazard, KY and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Betty Riley Fugate.  She was also preceded in death by two sons:  Brandon Fugate and Daniel Smith.

She is survived by three sons: Travis Thorpe (Brianna Spicer) of Jackson, KY., Jonathan (Sarah) Thorpe of Mt. Sterling, KY. and Brandon Taulbee of Jackson, KY.  Two daughters: Kendra (Connie) Simpkins-Thorpe of Mt. Sterling, KY and Deanna Taulbee of Jackson, KY.  Two sisters:  Theresa (Don) Neace of Hazard, KY and Alpha McIntosh of Muncie, IN.  One brother: Dana (Ruby) Riley of Muncie, IN.  Four grandchildren:  Aubrey Thorpe, Laken Thorpe, Jaxon Combs, and Benjamin Thorpe. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Naomi Mitchell officiating.  Burial in the Neace and Noble Cemetery at Lost Creek, KY.  Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00-9:00 pm.
