Herbert Thornburg, age 94, of Haddix, KY passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his residence.–He as born April 7, 1924 in Delaware County, Indiana  and was the son of the late Darvin and Emma (Belles) Thornburg.–He was also preceded in death by one daughter: Linda Bresler.–He was a United States Navy World War II Veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign and Philippine Liberation.–He is survived by his wife: Lavada (Hicks) Thornburg of Haddix, KY–Six daughters:  Diane McKinney of Tampa, FL-Paula Tillie of Minnesota.-Elesha Watts, Wendy Raleigh and Emily Costello of Jackson, KY-Joy Gribbins of Lawrenceburg, KY–One sister: Mildred Towns of CA.–Sixteen grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.–A special niece: Jennifer Gonzales-Johnson.–Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Mcamas and Joseph Hicks officiating.–Burial in the Raleigh Family Cemetery at Wolfcoal, KY–Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
