Green Berry Turner, age 68, of Jackson, KY passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was born December 21, 1947 at Wolfcoal, KY and was the son of the late Ollie James and Fannie Turner. Green Berry was a retired employee of the KY Department of Transportation in Jackson, KY and a member of the Lower Quicksand United Baptist Church. Green Berry could be seen at any sporting event in Breathitt County and there will be an empty seat at all of coming sporting events in Breathitt County. He is survived by his wife: Lucille Turner of Jackson, KY. One daughter: Shannon Turner (Chris Fugate) of Jackson, KY. One son: Green Berry Turner, JR of Jackson, KY. Two grandsons: Dustin Stamper and Devin Fugate; One granddaughter: Jordan Fugate. One sister: Gladys (Lynn) Pelfrey of Jackson, KY. Four brothers: Billy Ray Turner of Wolfcoal, KY; Johnny (Patty) Turner of Hyden, KY. James Elliott (Ann) Turner of Jackson, KY. Orville (Cora) Turner of Jackson, KY. One special great niece: Emma Tyman Manns. Several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Emmitt Campbell and David McIntosh officiating. Burial in Jackson Cemetery, Jackson, KY. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. with additional services at 7:00 p.m. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: James Elliott Turner, II; Charlie Steven Turner; Ray Mullins; Tommy Joe Herald, Jim Bowling and Tim Gross.
