Eugene Sandlin, age 77, of Buckhorn, KY departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.  He was a retired school teacher and basketball coach in the Perry County School system.  He was born August 19, 1946 at Buckhorn, KY and was the son of the late James C. and Etta (Ingram) Sandlin.  He was preceded in death by sisters: Alpha Sandlin Combs and (husband Bert)  and Cora Sandlin Begley.  Brothers:  Donnie Sandlin, David Sandlin, J.D. Sandlin, Floyd Sandlin, Edgar Sandlin and (wife Margaret).  Nieces: Georgina (Bud) Stamper and Lisa Combs. Nephews: Larry Bowling and James Sandlin.  Great nephew: Adam Stamper.  Brother in Law; Lawrence Bowling.  He is survived by his sister: Leola Bowling of Somerset, KY.  His brother: Charles (Alma) Sandlin of Hazard, KY.  Brother in law: Roy Begley.  Sisters in law: Polly Sandlin and Aileen Sandlin.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral, Buckhorn, KY with Albert Little officiating.  Burial in the Government Cemetery at Buckhorn, KY.  Visitation will be on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 pm at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral with additional services beginning at 7:00 pm.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers:  Family and Friends.
