Edward Prater, age 64, of Middletown, OH and formerly of Breathitt County, KY passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his residence in Middletown.–He was born April 21, 1953 in Breathitt County, KY and was the son of the late Huey B. and Gertrude (Bradley) Prater.–He was preceded in death by five brothers: Leon Prater, Luther Prater, James Prater, Clyde Prater and Everett Prater.–He is survived by one daughter: Melissa A. (Bobby) Trent of Middletown, OH.–One son: James Edward (Crystal) Prater of Middletown, OH.–Faithful companion: Brenda Klein of Middletown, OH.–Four sisters: Dallas Clemons and Annette Napier of Jackson, KY.–Pauline Dobbs and Louella Stacy of Indiana.–Two brothers: Bradley Prater and Alvin Prater of Jackson, KY.–Four grandchildren: James Prater, Jason Trent, Brittany Prater and Savannah Prater.–Two great grandchldren: Madilyn Prater and Laila Trent.–Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Emmitt Campbell officiating.–Burial in the Bud Keith Cemetery, Quicksand Creek Road, Jackson, KY.–Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
