Derek Wayne Fugate, age 32 of Hyden, KY and formerly of Breathitt County passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden, KY.–He was born January 23, 1986 in Hyden, KY.–He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Courtney and Bessie Mullins Fugate.–His maternal grandparents: Reed and Leone Noble.–He is survived by his mother: Rose Ann Brewer of Hyden, KY–His father: Silas Fugate of Dice, KY–Two sisters: Helen  Coots of Hyden, KY and his brother in law: Brian Coots of Hyden, KY.–Kimberly Lynn Smith of Whitesburg, TN–His favorite aunt: Judy Back.–His three best friends: Michael Johnson, Travis Napier and Cara Cici Hayes.–He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and one great niece.–Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Neace, Emmitt Campbell and Clay Gross officiating.–Burial in the Red Hill Cemetery at Chavies, KY–Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with additional services at 6:00 p.m.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–Pallbearers: Family and Friends.
