Delcie Mae (Short) Smith Bowling, age 79, of Jackson, KY passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY.–She was born January 27, 1939 in Breathitt County, KY and was the daughter of the late Matt and Dora (Vires) Short.–She was preceded in death by her husband: Clyde Smith.–One son: Clyde Smith, JR.–One infant sister:  Rosemarie Short.–Four brothers:  John Short, Dean Short, J.B. Short, Ollie Short.–One son in law: Robert Johnson and one brother in law: Hershel Terry.–She is survived by four daughter: Jeannie Smith Johnson and Darlene (Eddie) Johnson of Canoe, KY–Diane (Stan) Farmer of Mt. Sterling, KY-Charlene (Michael) Lord of OH.–Three sisters:  Helen Terry of Turkey Creek, KY-Susie (Robert) Smith of Canoe, KY-Amanda (P.J.) Johnson of Richmond, KY–Three brothers: Ance (Fannie) Short of Canoe, KY–Bobby (Ina) Short and Richard (Frances) Short of Newport, KY–16 grandchildren and host of great grandchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Lord officiating.–Burial in the Matt Short Cemetery , Mill Creek Road, Canoe, KY–Visitation will begin on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–Pallbearers: Family and Friends.
