CPL Matthew Lovins, 22, of Camp Lejeune, NC, formerly of Jackson, departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. -Matt was born on August 23, 1997, and is the only son of Bobbi and Chris Dalton of Jackson.-Serving as an active duty Marine, Matt enlisted in the Corp in 2016 and worked with the 2nd Supply Battalion. His career was a passion for him, as he desired to be in the US Military since the age of four. He enjoyed living on the coast, but traveled home to Jackson often, as he loved the country, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and local friends.- Matt is a graduate of Breathitt County High School, an avid UK, and Patriots fan, and enjoyed living life to the fullest. -Matt also gave his life to Christ in 2016 and attended church with family at Grace Bible Community Church when he was home to visit.–Matt is survived by his parents, as well as three sisters: Emily (Tyler), Rain, and Autumn. -Also surviving is his maternal grandmother, Rose McIntosh; his aunt, Lisa McIntosh; his uncle, Michael (Ashley); 2 nephews, Mason and Maverick; his niece, Mabry; and his cousin, Alex. He is survived also by his lifelong best friends, Jordan Osborne, and Abi Strong. He is preceded in death by his grandfather; Carl Wayne “Snake” McIntosh; maternal great-grandparents, Martha and Luther Combs, and Hargis and Mary Banks.-Visitation for Matt will be Friday, September 20, 2019, beginning at 6 pm at Grace Bible Community Church on Highland Road, Jackson.- Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21,2 019, at 2 pm at the church with full military honors. -Burial will take place at the Gilbert-Jett Cemetery on Highland Road, where Matt will be laid to rest next to his grandparents.-
Services will be conducted by Krystal Combs, Bryan Combs, Jr., and Archie Combs, along with United States Marine Corp personnel.-Pallbearers include Jordan Osborne, Abi Strong, Alex Bissell, Blake West, Aaron Williams, James Fletcher Collins, and members of the United States Marien Corp.-In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators (Bluegrass Hospice Care) and the Wounded Warrior Project. -Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
