Chester “Chet” Barnett, age 70, of Palmetto, FL, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.-He was born and raised in Jackson, KY. Chet spent 20 years in the Air Force, retired as a Master Sergeant and then went on to work for the VA for another 20 years.  He was preceded in death by his father: Herman “Shorty” Barnett.- One daughter: Christina Barnett.- Brothers in law: Eugene Moore and Gary Shouse.-Sister in law: Kathy Barnett and Mother in law; Mary Erbe.- He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol Sue (Erbe) Barnett of Palmetto, FL. -His mother: Thelma Barnett of Jackson, KY; -His son Ronnie Barnett of St. Petersburg, FL.-Three sisters: Linda Moore of Ellenton, FL; Brenda Shouse of Jackson, KY and Angie Barnett of Lexington, KY.-One brother: Bobby Barnett of Jackson, KY. and many other family and friends.-Memorial services and Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 2:30  p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Drewey Lee Jones officiating.-Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday until time of service.-Interment in the Jackson Cemetery.-Military Rites will be observed at 3:00 p.m.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
