Charlie Gilbert, age 79, of Jackson, KY passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Eastern KY Veterans Center in Hazard, KY.-He was born March 13, 1939 at Shoulderblade in Breathitt County and was the son of the late Victor and Stella (Combs) Gilbert.-He was preceded in death by one sister: Margaret Esther Gilbert Allen-Two brothers: George Wilson Gilbert and Edward Paul Fitzpatrick.-He is survived by his wife: Opal Allen Gilbert of Jackson, KY-Two daughters: Sandra Gilbert Deaton and Jill Gilbert (Bryan) Combs of Jackson, KY-One son: Charles Victor (Becky Kay) Gilbert of Jackson.-Three brothers: Tim Fitzpatrick, Jerry Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick. Eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.-Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bryan Combs JR and Bryan Charles Combs officiating.-Burial in the Gilbert Cemetery, Highland Road, Jackson, KY-Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.-Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.- Pallbearers: Charles C.
