Ben Fugate, age 87, of Richmond, KY and formerly of Jackson, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY–He was born December 30, 1930 at Chavies, KY in Perry County and was the son of the late John and Edna (Henson) Fugate.–He was preceded in death by three sisters:  Eva Mae Spencer, Lula Combs, and Hazel Cooper.–Two brothers:  Jimmy Fugate and Sammy Joe Fugate.–He is survived by his wife: Zula Faye (Howard) Fugate of Richmond, KY–Two  daughters: Vickie Fugate McDaniel and Carol Fugate of Dayton, OH-Three sons-Jonathan  Fugate, Timothy Fugate, Glenn Fugate  all of Dayton, OH.–One special step son: Bob Cole of Lexington, KY.-Two sisters:  Mahala Jean Baker and Nora Faye Merrill.– Fifteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.–Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Fugate and Bill McCrary officiating.–Burial in the Jackson Cemetery.–Visitation will begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m.–Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.–In lieu of flowers, donations requested be made to the VA or charity of choice.
